The gym workout will build muscle (if your lifting weights) and the swimming will build stamina and some strength. If your in good health i see no problem with it.

For the pool ive never come across any evidence to support this will be great cardiovascular workout this or against it seems to support this or against it as his.

You will be alright man….I lift for about 45 mins do 30 mins of cardio, then swim for a little….Swimming is good for you helps w/ your stamina and helps helps you get tone…..
